Day 43 – Port Lincoln

Rain starting to grey the skies and dull the mood. Drove upto the local lookout (Winter Hill Lookout). The views range from Port Lincoln to the Eyre Peninsula.

After a quick brekkie, we met the famous Australian Melbourne Cup winner, Makybe Diva.

The town wanted to celebrate the horse so they had a statue erected on the foreshore.

Day 43 – Cowell

Day 43 – Cowell

We stopped for lunch at Cowell. A quaint little town dating back to the 1880s.This town lives off the fishing, farming and jade mining.

Our next stop was Whyalla. We looked for the town lookout (Hummock Hill). This looked over the port and local waterways.

Apparently Queen Elizabeth  herself was at this lookout at Hummock Hill in 1986 where she unveilled a plaque, cheers Queenie. Pics were great.

B100 to Augusta, motel room, car unpacked. Quick trip across bridge to Flinders Hotel for dinner.
TV, beer, comfy bed.
